Prior to doing so, <strong>read through this page carefully<\/strong> to ensure your work is ready for publication and use.\r\n<h2>Open Textbook Completion Checklist<\/h2>\r\n\u2610\u00a0Has your work been <a href=\"https:\/\/openbooks.macewan.ca\/authorsguide\/chapter\/open-textbook-review-criteria\/\">peer-reviewed<\/a> by at least two subject matter experts?\r\n\r\n\u2610\u00a0Does your work meet <a href=\"https:\/\/openbooks.macewan.ca\/authorsguide\/chapter\/accessibility-checklist\/\">accessibility standards<\/a>?\r\n\r\n\u2610 Are all sources correctly <a href=\"https:\/\/openbooks.macewan.ca\/authorsguide\/chapter\/attribution-statements-and-copyright-notices\/\">cited and attributed<\/a> to the appropriate copyright holders?\r\n\r\n\u2610\u00a0Have you checked your work for proper spelling and grammar?\r\n\r\n\u2610\u00a0Do you have a <a href=\"https:\/\/openbooks.macewan.ca\/authorsguide\/chapter\/creating-and-uploading-a-book-cover\/\">book cover<\/a> uploaded?\r\n\r\n\u2610\u00a0Have you filled out all of the information in the <a href=\"https:\/\/openbooks.macewan.ca\/authorsguide\/chapter\/updating-book-info-metadata\/\">Book Info<\/a> section of Pressbooks?\r\n\r\n\u2610 Have you configured book export options (see below)?\r\n<h3>Export Option Instructions<\/h3>\r\nStudents like flexibility when it comes to their textbooks.\r\n\r\nFollow these instructions to make your work available in multiple formats so students have the ability to choose the format that works for them (.pdf, .epub). This also includes editable files so that others can use your work to create their own adaptations (.xml).\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Go to the <strong>Export<\/strong> page listed in the left menu in the Pressbooks dashboard.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>At minimum we recommend selecting:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>PDF (for print)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>PDF (for digital distribution)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>EPUB<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Pressbooks XML<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Common Cartridge with Web Links\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>*This format enables users to embed chapters of your textbook into their Learning Management System (LMS). For assistance using this, contact <a href=\"mailto:digitalscholarship@macewan.ca\">digitalscholarship@macewan.ca<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Once selected, click on <strong>Export Your Book<\/strong> and these options will be available to users from your book\u2019s homepage once published.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<div class=\"textbox\">Remember to export your book each time you make updates following publication.<\/div>\r\n<h2>Ready to Publish?<\/h2>\r\nWhen you are ready to publish your work, notify <a href=\"mailto:digitalscholarship@macewan.ca\">digitalscholarship@macewan.ca<\/a> and we will ensure that it is made public and available in our <a href=\"https:\/\/openbooks.macewan.ca\/catalogue\/\">catalogue<\/a> of works. We will notify you as soon as this is complete.\r\n\r\nWe will also:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>Assign a digital object identifier (DOI) and International Standard Book Number (ISBN).<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Archive a PDF version of your book with Library and Archives Canada, and in MacEwan\u2019s research\u00a0 repository, <a href=\"https:\/\/roam.macewan.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RO@M<\/a>.
