Directions for users of other Pressbooks installations may vary.\r\n<h2><b>Uploading a Video File<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<div class=\"textbox\"><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE:<\/strong> Because video files can be quite large, MacEwan University provides a streaming service where users can upload videos and then embed them into Pressbooks.<\/div>\r\nFirst email <a href=\"mailto:digitalscholarship@macewan.ca\">digitalscholarship@macewan.ca<\/a> to request access to the Pressbooks Media channel in MacEwan's streaming service.\r\n\r\nOnce given access, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/streaming.macewan.ca\">https:\/\/streaming.macewan.ca<\/a> and select<strong> Guest<\/strong> in the top right to log in.\r\n\r\nYour name should now appear in the top right corner. Select your name and then\u00a0<strong>My Channels<\/strong>. Go to the channel titled <strong>Pressbooks Media<\/strong>.\u00a0 Select <strong>+ Add to Channel<\/strong> and then <strong>ADD<\/strong><b> NEW&gt;&gt; Media Upload<\/b>.\r\n\r\nAgree to the <strong>Copyright Notice<\/strong>. Remember that you can only use videos in your work that you own copyright to, or that are openly licensed.\r\n\r\nUpload your file.\r\n\r\nOnce your upload is complete, enter a <strong>Name<\/strong> (required) and <strong>Description<\/strong> (optional) for the video. (This information will not be visible to users in your Pressbook.)\r\n\r\nSelect <strong>Save<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nOnce your video is uploaded, select <strong>Share\u00a0<\/strong>and copy the link under <strong>Link to Media Page<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nPaste the link to the video where you would like it to appear in your Pressbook and select <strong>Save<\/strong>. Your video should now appear.\r\n\r\nHere is an example. Note that we do not recommend using cell phone videos captured in portrait mode, however, cat videos are always encouraged.\r\n\r\nhttps:\/\/streaming.macewan.ca\/media\/Harlow+and+Squirrel\/0_es42y972\r\n<h2><b>Uploading an Interactive Video\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\r\nThe H5P plugin in Pressbooks allows you to upload videos and add interactive elements throughout that users can engage with, including true\/false and multiple choice questions.\r\n\r\nTo add an interactive video, select <strong>H5P Content<\/strong> from the Pressbooks administrator side bar and select <strong>Add New<\/strong>. If it is your first time using H5P you may need to agree to terms of use.\r\n\r\nFind <strong>Interactive Video<\/strong> in the list of content types. Select <strong>Get<\/strong> &gt;&gt; <strong>Install <\/strong>&gt;&gt;<strong> Use.\u00a0<\/strong>(In subsequent uses, you will need to click\u00a0<strong>Details\u00a0<\/strong>&gt;&gt;\u00a0<strong>Use.<\/strong>)\r\n\r\nUpload the video file you want to add interactive elements to under <em>Step 1<\/em>.\r\n\r\nOnce complete, select\u00a0<em>Step 2\u00a0<\/em><strong>Add Interactions.\u00a0<\/strong>Drag and drop elements from the toolbar above the video and follow the instructions provided.\r\n\r\nOptionally, add Summary Tasks to the end of your video.\r\n\r\nWhen complete, select<strong> Create. <\/strong>Copy the shortcode in the top right of the screen appearing between square brackets, and paste it wherever you want your interactive video to appear in your Pressbook. Here you can also view Results from people who have interacted with this content.\r\n<h2>Embedding Streaming Videos (YouTube, Vimeo)<\/h2>\r\nTo embed openly licensed videos from streaming services like YouTube or Vimeo, simply paste a link to the video where you would like it to appear in your Pressbook and select <strong>Save<\/strong>.
