The six interconnected trajectories for informing mapping practices are shown within interconnecting circles at the centre of the diagram. The trajectories are (1) Community empowerment/counter-mapping, (2) Cultural mapping and municipal governance, (3) Artistic approaches, (4) Literary, music, and film mapping, (5) Academic Inquiry, and (6) Cultural Policy.

The trajectories are set within two circles, the inner circle, Orientations, is labelled with (1) Cultures of place, (2) Community attachments to place, and (3) Self and place.

The outer circle, Approaches, is labelled with (1) Cultural resource/asset mapping, (2) Approaches. [Return to Figure 4:12]
