Chapter 12: One-way ANOVA
Overview
Two-sample [latex]t[/latex] tests are used to compare two population means based on two independent samples. When comparing [latex]k > 2[/latex] population means based on [latex]k[/latex] independent samples, one-way ANOVA can be used. ANOVA stands for ANalysis Of VAriance. This chapter introduces the main idea behind the one-way ANOVA F tests and how to conduct a one-way ANOVA F test based on computer output.
Learning Objectives
As a result of completing this chapter, you will be able to do the following:

- Explain the main idea behind a one-way ANOVA F test.
- Write down the hypotheses for a one-way ANOVA F test.
- Conduct a one-way ANOVA F test based on computer output.
